The Calling

As you walk through the dunes, your feet slip in the the soft sand as you step forward, you smell the salt in the air, the sunlight catches the tops of the grasses and you see your first glimpse of the turquoise waters, calling you, urging you on to the sands beyond and the waiting ocean. The Calling is inspired by that journey so many make across Cornwall as they find their way to the pleasures of the sea. The location of the painting is Porthtowan, a small, beautiful and welcoming village on the North Cornwall coast. The painting is painted in oils on a Loxley box canvas, with white painted sides. It measures 30x30 inches (76x76cm) and is ready to hang.
