This painting is inspired by all of those dog walkers (and indeed those without dogs) who go out for a walk whatever the weather, and sometimes despite the weather. As my dear old gran would say, there is no such thing as the wrong weather, just the wrong clothes. Whatever the Weather captures a couple strolling slowly across the Gwithian sands during Autumn with their old Labrador, as the winds pick up strength and blows them along. It is painted as seen from the adjacent Godrevy beach, looking South West towards Hayle beach. The weather wasn’t great, but that wasn’t the point. Walking across the beautiful Gwithian sands was the main event!
